If you have a well-equipped bathroom, you can lie in the tub with champagne and chocolate and then take a refreshing shower. As a rule, however, people can be divided into two groups: Some have a bath, others prefer to take a shower. However, what does our skin think about this? Are both cleaning processes okay for them?
In general, a short shower is gentler to the natural skin barrier, provided that we do not shower too hot, too often or too long. If the skin gets and overdoses of water or contact with an unsuitable shower product, for example a soap, it softens. This makes its barrier vulnerable, fat and moisture can get lost. The result: dry skin. However do not worry. We can still enjoy the daily refreshment under the shower if we use the right cleansing product, which should be adapted to the respective skin type:
Of course, the bathtub still has its privileges. If we dip for 20 minutes, once to three times per week, depending on the skin type, at 35° C to 38° C, this is also ok for our skin. Since this beauty ritual can be very relaxing or, by adding essential oils, promote your health. If you suffer from dry skin, it is better to get into the tub with an oily product. Lavish bubble baths are rather something for normal skin. Whether shower or tub, after the water games and drying we compensate a possible loss of moisture of the skin with rich body lotions.
Experts are often asked if daily showering is really advisable. Obviously, the answer depends on the skin type. A shower is always required after sporting activities. Apart from that, skin specialists recommend for very dry skin to only shower every two days and in between just clean the intimate area and other body parts of the body that develop odours thoroughly with a washcloth. But that goes without saying, since the daily use of deodorant is a matter of course, and that needs a clean basis to be able to unfold its effect.
