    THE OLIVE OIL CARE RANGE

    The olive oil care range has existed for over 10 years and has established itself very successfully. Our research and development department has been working intensively on the subject of olive oil and has contributed its knowledge to the production of the olive oil care range. In addition to olive oil, also other valuable vegetable oils and extracts, as well as skin-caring lipids or innovative active ingredient combinations are used in the olive oil products. This is the basis for a healthy, beautiful skincare. Our Olive Oil range offers products for women, men and young skin down to baby care products.

    HIGH-QUALITY OIL

    Olive oil contains a high proportion (up to 80%) of monosaturated fatty acids and is one of the healthiest oils. The proportion of natural vitamin E and phenolic compounds such as simple phenols, oleuropein and flavonoids are the cause of the high antioxidant effect of extra virgin olive oil.

    The olives harvested are processed in a cooperative oil mill today. The olive oil is sold directly on the spot. To this day, the people have preserved much of their self-image and their philosophy of life. This can also be felt in the joie de vivre that is brought to the visitor. We support the people in their commitment to preserve the culture around the olive trees.

    AUTUM IS HARVEST TIME

    There is a lot of hustle and bustle in the mountains as from November. The olive harvest is about to start. The framers move with coarse rakes along the branches of the trees. The fruits fall heavily into coloured nets that were previously spread out in the grove. Standing on tall ladders or bent over on the ground, every family member helps with the harvest. Everybody is needed, since the olive harvest is laborious manual labour even today.

    THE TRANSFORMATION

    The harvested olives must be taken to the oil mill for pressing as soon as possible, preferably on the same day. There the olives are washed and crushed into a paste by large granite wheels at minimum temperatures. Then the oil is processed in a centrifuge, separating the olive oil, water and solids. The golden-green finished olive oil runs into the prepared storage containers.

    QUALITY CRITERIA AND QUALITY ASSURANCE

    The olive oil we use for our cosmetics is one of the best olive oils in the Mediterranean. We purchase directly from the producer. We attach great emphasis on controlled cultivation, care of the olive groves and the processing of the olives. Only cold pressed olive oil with the rating “extra vergine” is used.

      Oleocanthal:

      • Occurs only in olive oil
      • Anti-inflammatory effect

      Elastase

      • In olive oil in particularly high concentration
      • Responsible for the conversion and breakdown of the elastic fibres in the skin

      Squalane:

      • skin-related lipid substance
      • protects and smoothes the skin
      • transports fat-soluble substances deeper into the skin (vehicle function)

      Oleuropein:

      • Highly antioxidant - regulates cell renewal
      • Anti-inflammatory
      • Slows down the ageing process
      • Stimulates the immune system
      • Also included in olive leaf extract

      Flavonoids:

      • Belong to the secondary plant substances
      • Offer protection against harmful external influences (free radicals)
      • Anti-oxidant effect
      • Have an anti-inflammatory effect
